When my friend Stefano told me about Bruno Sammaciccia's deci­sion to write down part of his memories, I decided to cooperate, add­ing my experiences to his, even if I had never met him. I had known of him only by name (we met only after this operation).

I am obviously grateful to Stefano for his work of coordination and enrichment. Reading Bruno's notes, and comparing his tales to my experiences, I should say that in Germany our Friends made us live more technically oriented experiences than in Italy. I am an engineer, like Stefano, and have worked in the TLC field (that's how I had met him), and I believe to have profited from what our Friends told me about their technologies. An important invention in the TLC field has certainly been inspired by them (for obvious reasons, I can't reveal which one).

Now that I have met him, I may state that Bruno is an exquisite man, with a deep culture in morality and spirituality. He was not so well aware of what was going on outside Italy, and so he has read care­fully my notes. Our meeting at Stefano's became a session of questions and answers, and. Stefano has included in his text what emerged that day. Unfortunately, I do not understand Italian, therefore I've been able to read only the first version of this chapter, the English one.

In Germany we also felt that something grand was taking place, and we too tried to conceal everything, except for a few dubious reports.

We were told that Italy was to become the leader nation on this subject, thanks to the centre of studies that Bruno had built, and when everything went haywire in that country, we felt a deep disheartening and sadness. ^-file Friends told us that a moment of rest and re-thinking was necessary, and that we were to meet again in the first years of the new century, but up to now they haven't appeared.

Obviously we were aware of similar events taking place in other countries in Europe, but only at times were we in touch with foreigners involved with Amicizia. Here too, now, very few are still alive. There­fore I agree with Bruno in leaving these memories for the future, when our Friends return, if they wish to. Unlike Bruno, I have asked Stefano not to reveal my family name, and not to include my curriculum in his book (my curriculum is rather similar to Stefano's, with perhaps fewer international experiences, but similar working environment).

In closing, I suggest that the reader examine carefully the following pages, because, I hope, one day he will be able to live similar experi­ences.
